Italian design firm Avatar Architettura is well-known for their ability to turn recycled wooden pallets into inspiring works of art – like this fun pavilion in Italy. Designed as a temporary art installation for the Villa Romana at the German Institute of Culture in Florence, the 100-square-foot structure was made from diamond-shaped pallets held together by custom-made joints.
The prefabricated Recycled Pallet Pavilion was erected in just four days and has a negligible environmental impact. Transparent PVC was wrapped around the entire pavilion allowing people to look out while the opaque roof provides a sense of enclosure. This airy, well-lit space is ideal for temporary art exhibitions and other small events and the best part? It comes down in a jiffy, so it’s easy to move it on to the next place.
