Fertile Ground Cooperative | Pallet Dumpster Version 1.0

Matt and I built our first pallet dumpster prototype for one of our trial period restaurants.  The pallets were rescued from nearby dumpsters.  The interior lining is made from a dumpster-rescued billboard tarp/sign.  The lid stand is upcycled bamboo.

The restaurant with whom we are working will separate compostables, recyclables (including cardboard),and landfill trash into separate clear bags and place them into this dumpster.  The Fertile Ground crew will pick up 2 times per week and deliver trash to the appropriate end location (compost lot, recycling facility, landfill receptacle).

Our goal is to divert as much waste from the landfill as possible while making a beautiful growing medium in the process.  Stay tuned for future developments…
