It’s a good thing firefighters are on duty 7 days a week 24 hours a day because wood pallet fires can break out anytime, anywhere. The Port Huron, Michigan fire department got their wood pallet wake-up call this past weekend. Their friends in the Marysville FD got to join the action as well.
The blaze took several hours to get under control. Once again, the culprits were wood pallets haphazardly piled up with no precautions to protect against combustion. This is like that movie from a few years ago, The Never Ending Story. As long as there are no requirements for the care and handling of wood pallets, these wood pallet fire stories will keep happening.
